Sant Miquel de Turbians

Sant Miquel de Turbians is a Romanesque chapel documented since the 10th century that belongs to the municipality of Gisclareny.

It has a unique nave and no apse, facing east.

Of note is the facade, on the south wall, with a portal in two degraded semicircular arches and voussoirs that are finished off by an archivolt. The bell tower is square in plan with four semicircular arch openings at the top. The chapel is currently a suffrage of Santa Maria de Gisclareny, although it was an independent parish.

In addition, two more elements stand out from Sant Miquel de Turbians. On one hand, there are documented simonic practices in this parish during the fourteenth century. On the other hand, Father Francesc Cima i Garrigó wrote four books on spirituality, which narrate the conversations of a young man with an alleged hermit who lived in this place.
