
Together with Pyrenean Brown breed veal, free-range yellow-legged farmhouse chicken, capon, poularde (a young castrated hen), and turkey, these meats are marketed under the umbrella of the Cooperative of Mountain Livestock Farmers of Berguedà. This organization brings together nearly a hundred producers who use natural fattening methods, taking their time and feeding the animals with forage, grains, and legumes. This slow, traditional approach ensures meat of superior quality.
Many establishments across Catalonia — from small traditional shops to large supermarkets — offer select poultry meats from the Berguedà region.
