With all the power of nature, the springs where the Llobregat river is born, comes out directly from the cliffs that border Castellar de n'Hug and the nearby peaks such as Puigllançada and Tossa d'Alp. The groundwater coming out of the limestone is the result of the rain and snow accumulated up the mountain during the winter. The Llobregat river crosses Catalonia from north to south passing through the counties of Berguedà, Bages and Baix Llobregat and finally ends at the Mediterranean, forming the Llobregat delta.
We suggest you a route to enjoy the springs, a short and easy walk that from Castellar de n'Hug leads us along a well-marked path to the birth of one of the most important rivers in Catalonia, the Llobregat. In about 20min and 1km of travel (one way), we descend the path (with many stairs) that leads us to the place where the water flows from inside the mountain forming a beautiful waterfall. This is a visit suitable for all ages.
