The Cadí- Moixeró Natural Park was declared in 1983 by the Generalitat of Catalonia and is currently the second largest area of natural interest in Catalonia. It includes the set of pre-Pyrenean mountain ranges of Cadí and Moixeró . It is located between the regions of Berguedà , Alt Urgell and Cerdanya . The highest peak is Puig de la Canal Baridana or Vulturó at 2,648 m, although it also houses other sufficiently recognized peaks such as Moixeró (2,409 m), the Pedraforca massif (2,506 m) and Tosa (2,536 m) or Puigllançada ( 2,409 m) to name just a few.

The Cadí and Moixeró mountain ranges united by the Tancalaporta pass (2,357 m) form a boundary of impressive height between the Segre river valley and the Llobregat river valley.

The itinerary that we propose is a perimeter through the natural park that allows us to capture the landscape diversity of this space. This is the longest route of all the proposals and it is worth spending a whole day on it.

Description

The route begins in the square of the Guardiola de Berguedà  church, from where we leave on the B-402 in the direction of  La Pobla de Lillet, gently climbing along the side of the Llobregat river. We will cross the town and, at the exit, we will take the BV-4031 towards Castellar de n'Hug where we will begin a long and constant climb that will take us to reach the Creueta pass (1940 meters) in 20 km and 1000 meters of ascent slope.  You have to be aware of the length of the climb and take an appropriate pace.

Approximately halfway we will find the town of Castellar de n'Hug where we can take a break and stock up on food and drinks if we need it.

Once we reach the hill, we begin a small descent and then the climb that will take us to the top of the Pedró hill where we will turn left along the GI-400 road in the direction of the La Molina ski resort. In the middle of the station, this road forks to the left in the direction of Masella , which is where we should continue. We will pass through this second ski station and continue descending to Alp .

We will cross the town inside to find the GIV-4033 in the direction of Prats and Sansor . We cross the town and the road, when changing province, takes the new nomenclature of LP4033a and soon LP4033b. We continue along this road to go through Bellver de Cerdanya , a good place to get supplies.

After Bellver , we take the N-260 that will take us to La Seu d'Urgell crossing several towns. Just upon reaching the views of La Seu , past the neighborhoods of Sant Pere and Sant Antoni, at the foot of the road, we turn left, follow the Segre river for a stretch, cross the bridge and go up the L-4008 (C-462) to begin the long ascent to Adraen (1370 meters). However, the climb does not end here but we will have to continue climbing to the Bancs pass to find a break and begin the descent that will take us to Tuixent passing through Fórnols and Cornellana .

Without reaching the town of Tuixent - which, of course, is worth a visit -, we take the C-563 that, following the Josa River, will take us, ascending, to the town and hill of the same name. Once at the pass, we will begin the descent towards Gósol and the Trapa pass with the road converted into B-400. From here, we will begin the descent towards Saldes and Collet . Only a small section of ascent to crown the Alt de Maçaners will take us to what could be an endless descent.

Once you reach the collet , you will only have to take the C-16 to the left to return to Guardiola de Berguedà and complete this great route.
